Liberty Lake Community Theatre stages new comedy

Liberty Lake Community Theatre will break in its new stage with a comedy for Halloween.

The group is performing an adult comedy called "Alibis" - that has a plot similar to "Clue" - in its new home in the library's former location in the Liberty Square Building.

"It's hilarious. You're going to be laughing the entire time," LLCT President Jennifer Ophardt said of "Alibis," written by Peter Kennedy and directed by Matthew Ophardt.

The show, labeled PG-13, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 29-30 and 2 p.m. on Oct. 31 at 1421 Meadowood Lane, Suite 130. Tickets are $8 for non-members and $6 for LLCT members. They can be purchased at the door or by contacting LLCT.

The plot follows a party thrown by famous actress Primavera Donna, who winds up dead. The guests are left to figure out the mystery.

The performance marks the first time the community theatre will act on its own stage. For now, the group is using the Liberty Lake Municipal Library's former location for free, thanks to Greenstone, Ophardt said.

The group still is raising money to pay for the stage, and they're always looking for donations, volunteers and participants, Ophardt said.

"You name it, and we could probably use it," she said.
