Splash Madness Rules
RESULTS AND PARTICIPATING ADVERTISERS
RULES
* Brackets must be submitted to The Splash by 9:00 a.m. on March 17 to be eligible for play.
* Only one entry is allowed per person. If more than one bracket is received from the same person, The Splash will use the most recently-submitted bracket.
* Prizes will only be awarded to individual entries, although groups or classes are encouraged to play along for fun.
* Splash staff members and family members play along but are not eligible to win prizes.
SCORING
* The Splash will keep track of the scoring and post results online after each round.
* If choosing a team in the "First Four" games (i.e. UAB or Clemson) to win in the second round, you must select the individual team to win (not just the UAB/Clemson line to win).
* Each correct pick in the second round is worth 1 point.
* Each correct pick in the third round is worth 2 points.
* Each correct pick in the Sweet 16 is worth 4 points.
* Each correct pick in the Elite Eight is worth 8 points.
* Each correct pick in the Final Four is worth 16 points.
* A correct pick in the National Championship game results in 32 points.
TIEBREAKERS
* The first tiebreaker will be the overall win/loss record in the tourney.
* The second tiebreaker will be win/loss percentage in the second round of games.
* The third tiebreaker will be win/loss percentage in the third round of games.
* The fourth tiebreaker will be win/loss percentage in the Sweet Sixteen round of games.
* The fifth tiebreaker will be a coin toss.
PRIZES
* Standings will be updated online following each round and weekly in The Splash.
* The overall winner at the end of the tournament will receive a $50 gift card to Hay J's Bistro. Second place will receive $25 to Liberty Lake Papa Murphy's, and third place will receive $15 to Papa Murphy's.
* The advertising game is separate, and participating advertisers play for their own prizes.
